Mark D. Sanders Latest Subject of “Poets and Prophets: Legendary Country Songwriters.”

2009 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member Mark D. Sander was the latest subject of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum programming series “Poets and Prophets: Legendary Country Songwriters.”

On May 26th an in-depth interview and performance was held in the museum’s Ford Theater. The 90 minute program included recordings, photos and film clips from the Museum’s Frist Library and Archive.

Sanders’ has had many #1 hits including “I Hope You Dance,” “Blue Clear Sky,” “It Matters To Me,” and “Heads Carolina, Tails California.” Artists who have recorded Sanders’ songs are Trace Adkins, Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Lonestar, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Jo Dee Messina, John Michael Montgomery, George Strait, Josh Turner, Lee Ann Womack and many more.
